Sometimes life doesn’t unfold as we plan, and the beginning of 2025 has been one of those times for me. Instead of jumping straight into the excitement of the new year, I found myself in the hospital with my son, who turns 18 tomorrow. It’s a milestone we had eagerly anticipated, but this week brought unexpected challenges. My son, who has learning disabilities and epilepsy, has been battling the flu, leaving us all a little shaken and reflective.
This wasn’t the celebration we had planned, but it’s reminded me of the resilience we grow as parents, professionals, and individuals. It’s a reminder, too, of the beauty in new beginnings—even when they come a little later than expected.
Last year marked the launch of my new business, a leap of faith into the unknown. It was a year of stepping out of my comfort zone, building relationships, and laying the groundwork for something that felt more aligned with my passions, values, and more importantly, my children. Starting something new is never easy, but the positive momentum I’ve felt—and the encouragement of those around me—has been transformative.
Equally transformative were the connections I made along the way. 2024 brought new friendships that have enriched my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I’ve found kindred spirits who inspire me, challenge me, and remind me of the power of human connection. A chance meeting or shared experience can change the course of your life for the better.
As I look ahead, my focus for 2025 is on confidence—both personally and professionally. Confidence to trust my instincts, to keep growing my business, and to continue stepping into opportunities that once felt out of reach. It’s also about embracing growth, learning from setbacks, and cherishing the moments, big and small, that make life so rich.
This year is a blank canvas, and while I don’t know exactly what it will hold, I’m ready to fill it with purpose and positivity. I’m committed to being open to the unexpected, to celebrating the milestones, and to continuing this journey of building something meaningful, both professionally and personally —not just for myself, but for those I work with and care about.
So, here’s to fresh starts, to the people who make our lives brighter, and to the courage it takes to grow. Whether your year has started on track or has faced its own set of challenges, know that every day is a chance to move forward, to embrace possibility, and to celebrate the small wins.
