My First In-Person Networking Event at Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm & Glamping

After months of virtual meetings and online connections, I recently attended my first in-person networking event with Devon Women in Business – and what better place to meet like-minded women than the stunning Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm & Glamping. Set in the heart of Devon’s picturesque countryside, the farm proved to be the perfect backdrop for an afternoon filled with connection and relaxation.

Arriving at Dartmoor Reach, I was immediately struck by the natural beauty of the surroundings. It’s not hard to see why they won Eco Friendly Business of the year 2023! The soothing sound of nature made it feel like a retreat from the chaos of everyday life. It’s no wonder this location offers regular yoga sessions and retreats – it feels like a world away from the usual stresses and busyness.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when meeting the other ladies for the first time, but I should have known how warm and welcoming everyone would be. There is something really powerful in a group of women connecting with the sole purpose of supporting each other. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and it didn’t take long for conversations to flow. The serenity of the environment definitely helped, and I quickly felt a sense of belonging.

Our afternoon began with a lovely home-grown lunch, filled with fresh and local ingredients, and all made by the beautiful Natalie, who runs the farm – the perfect start to a laid-back afternoon. Over lunch, we shared our business journeys, challenges, and ambitions. It was inspiring to hear from other women who are passionate about their work and determined to make a difference.

Afterward, we took part in a guided meditation session. Sitting in the beautiful studio, surrounded by nature, alpacas in the next field, the meditation was just what I needed to clear my mind and refocus. It’s amazing how a few moments of mindfulness can shift your perspective and leave you feeling completely refreshed. I left feeling like I was on a cloud!

No visit to Dartmoor Reach would be complete without spending time with the adorable alpacas! These gentle creatures had a calming presence too, and it was such a joy to meet them up close. They definitely added a unique touch to the afternoon and were a great reminder of the peaceful, simple beauty that nature can bring to our lives.

Dartmoor Reach isn’t just a one-time event location – it offers regular yoga sessions, retreats, and even stays in charming glamping pods. As I walked through the site, I could imagine spending more time there, reconnecting with nature and just taking some time away from every day life. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind, recharge, and leave feeling more balanced – whether you’re there for a business event, a yoga retreat, or simply a weekend away.

By the end of the afternoon, I felt relaxed, rejuvenated, and grateful for the connections I had made. It was more than just a networking event – it was an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and nurture both my personal and professional self.

If you’re ever looking for a place to retreat from the demands of everyday life or seeking an inspiring venue to host an event, I highly recommend Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm & Glamping. It’s a hidden gem in the heart of Devon that truly offers something special.

This event was a reminder of the power of stepping away from the screen and connecting face-to-face with others. And with such a beautiful, tranquil setting, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend an afternoon.
